capture-00001-8-15-2008 capture-00002-8-15-2008Here’s an old comic book design that I’m hoping is still in development!  It’s "The Zealot" and it’s centered on the ministry of warfare in Manitou Springs.  A friend of mine is writing the story and designing the comic- but I haven’t heard much lately!  Brett Baker, where are you??!  The fire on the hands is very prophetic!

Julia Palermo just mentioned that she wants a comic book character modeled after her… she’s also a Zealot, but that one’s taken.  Something about fire, power, revival, Leonard Ravenhill, praying in the Holy Spirit… hmmmm… any suggestions?

How about "The Heat Miser"?capture-00003-8-15-2008

She could battle the Snow Miser and melt the Frozen Chosen and save them from his arctic wrath.  Chris Ferguson could be Santa. capture-00004-8-15-2008

The Zealot could use his healing powers to raise Santa from his deep sleep.  Then, Chris (Santa) will awaken and jump into his flying revival-mobile. With the help of Super (Natural) Man, he will impart spiritual gifts to the desperate revivalists all around the world!

It’s powerful!

Come on now, The Zealot is awful cool looking and then Chris and I have to be Santa and Heatmiser respectively? I propose to be "Signs and Wonders Woman". And I can fly and raise the dead! Enough said.

    You know what's funny?

When I first saw Todd Bentley in 2003, I thought he looked just like the heat miser, with his hair all painted red and sticking up as it was, and then he seemed to have the same body type too. Every time I saw him preach, I would sing the "I'm Mr. Heat Miser" song under my breath to the Holy Spirit, and He and I would giggle in delight as we watched Todd burn brightly and wildly for the Lord and His people.

And then God sent me to Canada as a surprise in the fall of 2003. And during a class I was taking there, I was taken into a vision and shown all these people lined up neatly like frozen fish sticks in a big white freezer. I was told by the Holy Spirit that these were the "frozen chosen." (I had never heard that term before Holy Spirit told me that day.) I then saw a Canadian maple leaf all fire-colored, floating aimfully on the winds of the Spirit, just above the freezer full of frozen chosen. The fire from this leaf caused the frozen ones to melt just enough to rise up from their frozen-ness, perhaps at first in offense, but hey, at least they weren't lying down on the job any more in those spotless freezer-coffins . . . waitin' for the promised rapture to take them up, but without having gotten their hands dirty on the way.

I then saw a huge, fiery, healing wave sweep throughout this empty warehouse of a grocery store, a Costco in the sky if you will, empty save for the frozen fish sticks now arising from their prior bed of complacency. But this was not a wave of water. Oh no . . . it was a wind tsunami, now filled with that original fiery leaf, yet so many more copies of that leaf of fire! And the leaves were for healing. And then I heard the Lord say, "First Canada, then the United States."

And I believe this heat miser/first fiery leaf I saw was Todd Bentley. I thought so then, and I think so now. And the leaves of fire in this Wind Tsunami, those his ministry has touched and trained.

I can't help but chuckle at how well the following verse describes Todd and his ministry . . . especially regarding the mentioning of God's angels in all of this:

"And of the angels He says, 'WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE.'" [Hebrews 1:7]

And as we all know, Todd is not a tame fire. He is a wild fire. But at the same time, he is not a false fire or a strange fire. He is a fresh fire . . . fresh from the altar of God which is also the heart of God. Yes, he has tattoos and piercings. Personally, I don't have a problem with these. Yes, he had a very difficult and dangerous childhood and young adulthood, full of violence and mistakes done by him and to him. But I also believe the tremendous pain he still carries deep, deep down in the very recesses of his heart more than explains why it is so difficult for him to trust others, especially those closest to him. And that there is true hope because Todd is seeking help for this. And I know the nature of our God, and that God is going to meet him here in the most tender and thorough of ways.

And yes, our God hates divorce, but He also honors (and dare I say it . . . loves?) our free will so much! And I have come to know the grace and mercy nature of our God on such an intimate level myself, because I daily encounter Him in these ways . . . because I daily (and sometimes hourly and even moment-by-moment) need His understanding and forgiveness and once-and-for-all remission of my sins as I seek to live the overcoming life of a saint that Jesus bought for me at the cross. Therefore, who am I to judge . . . anyone? I know I have been put on earth to bless others, and so I cheerfully bless Shonnah, Todd, their 3 little ones, and all at Fresh Fire with a heart full of gratitude for the sacrifices they've made out of love and duty for the body of Christ!

I also can't help but add the following verse (John 3:8), which is one of my favorite life verses, and I dedicate it especially to Todd Bentley:

"The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

And I add this comment for all who choose to read this:

    For the Bride:

Be quick to hear, and slow to judge.
If you take your time, you'll find the rhyme . . . and the reason.
Be patient, for His wind is still a blowin',
Be watchful, for the Winds of Change have started flowin'.
The old are growing younger, the young are born the wiser.
For all will meet in the gate.
The gate that's in the shape of an eight.
And now you have read another translation of John 3:8!

I'm here. Unfortunately, my site got knocked offline when the servers went down, and with me back in school full-time now, there isn't time to devote to blogging or the world of comics like I would like. But I'm considering re-tooling things into illustrated web-book for now. Still it's all as time permits. Right now my first priority is getting through college-level spanish alive and with my tongue still attached (kidding -- sort of.)

I haven't even had time this week to play my guitar as much as I like, which makes me sad. But fear not. The Zealot will shine the light of God's justice on evildoers someday.

And Signs and Wonders woman cracks me up :)

Okay, I'll share my Todd Bentley story too.

When I was at Che Ahn's church in California, (Harvest Rock) Todd came to speak at a conference, while I was attending a DTS there put on by HRC, and overseen by Che and Lou Engle. This was back in his pre-tat days.

I was sitting at the side of the stage on the floor with a bunch of the other students, and Todd started preaching, I can't remember what the subject was, but he got around to talking about being "pickled in the Holy Spirit"

Well first of all, I thought the expression was amusing, so I chuckled to myself. Then Todd had the sound guys put on this devotional CD with him just talking and with music in the background, and the words "Mmmmm Holy Spirit, yum, yum, yum" rang out at the same instant that Todd came over to our side of the stage, looked me in the eyes, smiled, and bobbed back and forth to the words like some kind of mischievious pixie.

I couldn't help myself. This loud cackle shot out of my mouth, and echoed throughout the entire auditorium, and I was mortified. But then It was like this wierd wave of laughter started to sweep through the place, and I realized that it wasn't just Todd Bentley being silly, but that God was actually doing something in the room, and he was just using Todd as the focal point.

And all of a sudden, the entire room felt more free.

I'm not going to comment on Todd Bentley , the controversy swirling around him, or his detractors, I just wanted to share a funny story about how God used a quirky guy to lighten up a room.

So "Holy Spirit, yum, yum yum."
