Mobile Podcast : Ministry launch in Detroit

I have ministry launch fever!  The thought of developing a revival center in Detroit is so exciting… are you ready to run this race with us as an intern?  Financial partner?  Intercessor?  On our traveling team?

The city is unusually ripe for revival.  I’ve met a strangely high number of people who are deeply hungry for a deep move of God.  I am ready to see that city burn!  This revival strategy will help facilitate that as teams of people pray and travel to cities with the fire of God in their hands!

Here’s a couple of podcasts- the first one is on the way to the dentist as I talk about the big move.  The second is on the way home from the dentist with 1/2 of my skull numb.  You’re sure to enjoy it!

We’re looking for 100 new partners to support us in this new move.  We’ve lost over $1500 a month recently in support, so we now need $3000 of new support each month for our personal living expenses… and then we’ll need to raise capital for the ministry launch.

You can donate at www.praytherevolution.com/donate.

Thanks friends!

  • I am ready to see that city burn!

    That may have not been the best choice of words. Given your previous blog entries in which you talk about your Satan-repelling prayers, you must be familiar with what they call "Devil's Night" in Detroit, in which vandals criss-cross the city burning down unoccupied houses. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil's_Night.
  • I actually chose those words largely because of Detroit's history. The enemy counterfeits and destroys... there is a fire of God that will rebuild, restore and refresh Detroit. That's the cry.

    John,

    I would say this is what refreshes and builds souls:::>

    Act 20:29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;
    Act 20:30 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.
    Act 20:31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish everyone with tears.
    Act 20:32 And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
    Act 20:33 I coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.
    Act 20:34 You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me.
    Act 20:35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

    When "True" men of God rise up and take care of the flocks in Detroit, equipping the True Believers such, instead of bleeding them dry of all the good things God has blessed them with, those young foolish thoughts in those young, hungry for vision, purpose, a sense of it all, will be caught up with Jesus Christ and have no need to do so on devil's night in Detroit!

    If that does not happen, you can count on these young rebels acting like their father the devil and never want to turn to Christ and receive Hope, Living Hope, from Him! No wonder they do that, follow their father the devil, who comes only to kill, steal and burn down vacant houses on devil's night! grrrrr

    God be with you as you go and get a job in Detroit and provide for your own and those who come with you so that your team can begin laying down your lives and help the weak, seeing to it that they do not fail to receive the Grace of God:::>

    Heb 12:14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
    Heb 12:15 See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no "root of bitterness" springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

    1Jn 3:14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.
    1Jn 3:15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
    1Jn 3:16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
    1Jn 3:17 But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?
    1Jn 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
  • Decline of Devil's Night arson
    By the early 1990s, Detroit saw little decline in Devil's Night fires.[2] After a brutal Devil's Night in 1994, then new mayor Dennis Archer promised city residents arson would not be tolerated. In 1995, Detroit city officials organized and created Angel's Night on and around October 29-31. Each year as many as 50,000 volunteers gather to patrol neighborhoods.[3] Additionally, youth curfews in the city as early as 6 P.M. are instituted on the days before Halloween. Former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick had kept this program up in force since taking office in 2002. In 2007, 147 fires were reported from October 29 to October 31. In 2008, Oct. 30 through early Oct. 31, 65 fires were reported.[4] This large decrease is credited to the Angel's Night campaign.[5]

    just posting this to bring some balance the the "vandals criss-crossing my city, burning down unoccupied houses".
